I’ve learned to be ashamed of my scars

I am not a stranger to the dark
“Hide away”, they say
“‘Cause we don’t want your broken parts”

I’ve learned to be ashamed of all my scars
“Run away”, they say
“No one’ll love you as you are”

These are lyrics from one of the songs in ‘The Greatest Showman’!

Have you seen it yet?

If you haven’t…..what are you doing?

Get yourself down to the cinema ASAP

The movie is brilliant, fun, funny, lovable…

And the concept….taking a group of people who are outcast in society for being different

And putting them together to showcase their talents…

Giving them back the confidence that they lost

Helping them find love, happiness and acceptance

It’s an awesome concept

And it’s just sad that in real life….

We are still wholly un-accepting of being DIFFERENT

Of looking different!

We look at people who are overweight and make assumptions

We judge other people for their choices, when we don’t understand what led them there

But worst of all….

We judge ourselves

We hate ourselves

We are needlessly cruel to ourselves

If we could learn to treat ourselves with a little more understanding, a little more patience, a little more kindness….

I think you’d be amazed with how much of a difference it could make

I know that you can’t imagine it right now

I know that you don’t understand your body right now…

…..And how to get that healthy lifestyle kick started…

So this is why I am putting on an event for ladies

On Wednesday 31st January!

I’ll be helping you to build an understanding of HOW we get a healthy lifestyle going

And how we use this to get GREAT weight loss results…

(Without the usual sacrifices that you expect with a diet or exercise plan!)

A big part of that is acceptance

Acceptance and love for yourself

But I’ll talk more about that at the event

I’ll leave you with this chorus:

‘I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I’m meant to be, this is me
Look out ’cause here I come
And I’m marching on to the beat I drum
I’m not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is me
