……….then you can’t eat it
Time and time again I hear the same story
I got home from work….I was tired…and the food was just THERE
But the reality is that if the junk food isn’t in the house, then you can’t eat it
Save you going out in your car to get it, or ordering it in as a take away (both of which require a conscious effort and the knowledge that you COULD be making a smarter choice for your health)
I reached a point with my shopping where I realised that things were sneaking into the trolley
It was like a phantom hand putting in the extra bar of dark chocolate or the snack bars that I like!
I would get home, stock up the cupboards and then I would know that come the evenings when I was tempted to go skulking around the kitchen (often this is just boredom, not true hunger)….I would find the things I was looking for
When I stopped buying the stuff that I know I tend to over eat (or the things that simply aren’t good for me) I found that my night time skulking was limited to healthy leftovers, or more commonly a fruit tea (it hit the spot).
Night time or evening eating is a habit
It is not a biological need for food
So it is not going to help us move closer to weight loss and health
In fact, eating when you are not hungry is only going to move us AWAY from those goals
So let’s think about it when we are shopping next time
Are the things that you are putting into your trolley going to serve the goals that you have?
Are you putting things into your trolley ‘for the kids’ or ‘for the hubby’?
If you are using other people as an excuse to load the trolley up with junk,it’s time to take some responsibility for your own weight loss and health and take a stand
What you put into your trolley goes into your cupboards
What goes into your cupboard goes into your mouth
And what goes into your mouth determines the results that you WILL get in your body and health
Take the control back and be mindful of the thorns in your side
If you want to stop over eating, or stop the snacking or junk eating -> DON’T HAVE IT IN THE HOUSE
We can talk more about this if you like….
I can help you to develop healthier habits across the whole of your lifestyle to get better results…
All the best,
