You don’t need a perfect day

We’re you utterly gripped by the Olympics like I was?

It’s not the winning that makes feel compelled to watch

It’s the utter dedication that these athletes have day in day out to reach their goals

They train in 4 year cycles to compete at the Olympics

But most of them have probably been training for 2-4 cycles

Which is 8-16 years of commitment, dedication, tears, injuries and struggles to get where they want to be

I want you to think about what you want for a moment

These athletes should be the perfect example of how making a series of good choices can lead you down a good road

These athletes are the first to say that the journey was not easy

They are the first to share their struggles and strife

Because it isn’t easy

It’s not easy to train your body

Its especially not easy to train your mind!

Thoughts

It’s not easy to always make the right choices

But when the ultimate goal is something that you truly, madly, deeply want

The choices become easier and the path ahead becomes less intimidating

I heard a great quote the other day that I think is really relevant to this email

‘I’d rather have a good day today, than a perfect day tomorrow’

Don’t be the person that is always promising to take action tomorrow

Be the person that takes action today

No matter how small or insignificant you think your action is

Progress is progress
